Honest comparison
OAcast vs Uscreen
Uscreen is the most mature platform in this category — and its per-subscriber fees mean your bill grows with every member you add. OAcast charges a flat platform fee, includes live streaming, and never meters your audience. If you want TV apps today, Uscreen wins; if you want costs that don't scale against you, read on.

When Uscreen is the better choice
A comparison you can't trust in both directions isn't worth reading. Pick Uscreen if:
- You need TV apps (Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV) today — Uscreen's Custom plan includes five; OAcast doesn't offer TV apps yet.
- You want the longest track record in the category — Uscreen has run membership video since ~2015 with a strong support reputation (G2 4.7/5).
- You're under 100 subscribers and want the cheapest possible start — their $49/mo Starter is a low-commitment on-ramp.
- Your growth plan leans on their concierge migration and onboarding maturity.
The structural difference
Uscreen and OAcast agree on the most important thing in this category: your payments should run through your own account, so your subscriber relationships stay portable. That puts both of us ahead of merchant-of-record platforms where leaving means losing your billing.
The difference is what the platform charges for. Uscreen’s model meters your audience — every active subscriber adds $0.99–1.99 to the monthly bill, on top of the tier price. Ours meters revenue lightly and audience not at all: a flat platform fee plus a small transaction percentage, whatever your subscriber count. Which model is cheaper depends entirely on where you are on the growth curve — below roughly a hundred subscribers the difference is noise; past a thousand it’s rent.
The other structural gap is what “included” means. On OAcast, plans that carry live streaming carry it whole — chat, moderation, no hourly meter. Email campaigns and full white-labeling ship on every plan. On Uscreen, live is metered by the hour on every tier, apps are a $300/mo jump, and full white-labeling lives on the sales-gated Custom plan.
Switching without drama
If you’re moving an existing Uscreen operation: export your customer CSV (Uscreen makes this genuinely easy — credit where due), keep your Stripe account exactly as it is, and we’ll bring your library across during onboarding. Your members keep paying into the same Stripe they always did; they just get a better home for the content. Book a demo and bring your subscriber count — we’ll do the fee math with you live.
Questions people ask
Can I migrate from Uscreen to OAcast?
Yes, and it's easier than most migrations: both platforms run payments through your own Stripe account, so your billing relationships already belong to you. We migrate your library and members as part of onboarding — concierge migration is included from the Broadcast plan up.
Does OAcast really have no per-subscriber fee?
Correct. You pay a flat platform fee plus a small percentage per transaction. A thousand subscribers costs the same platform fee as a hundred — the percentage scales with revenue, not headcount.
What does live streaming cost on OAcast?
It's included in plans that carry it (Broadcast and up), with fair-use caps stated on the pricing page. There is no per-hour meter; if you hit a cap, we talk — nothing gets cut off mid-stream.
What about TV apps?
We don't offer TV apps today — Uscreen is ahead of us there. If Roku or Apple TV is a launch requirement, that may decide this comparison in their favor.
